Is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, with its stunning front display, the best flip phone according to the press renders?
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, set to be released in just over a month, has had its first official-looking renders leaked. These renders reveal a significant redesign of the device, which is part of the next generation of Samsung foldable phones.
Confirming previous rumors, the Z Flip 5 features a larger, asymmetrical cover display that bears a resemblance to the My Files icon on Samsung. This new display is expected to greatly enhance the device’s functionality when unfolded.
There have also been rumors that a suite of Google apps will be optimized for this display. Additionally, the leaked renders demonstrate the use of the Z Flip 5 for high-quality selfies and audio playback control.
Although it may not have the largest cover display among flip phones, the upgrade is still impressive. The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra currently holds that title with its display occupying nearly all of the usable space on the cover. However, a slight difference in size here and there is unlikely to have a significant impact.
The press image was provided to MySmartPrice by an unidentified source, but it appears to be credible. Additionally, the presence of Samsung branding at the top indicates that it may have been taken from a promotional material.
Not only has the Z Flip 5 been leaked, but there were also renders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 released in a similar fashion. These renders showcased a more subtle design change, with slimmer bezels being the main feature.
The pair is expected to attract attention. Apart from their sleek design, they are also expected to have upgraded internal specifications. Firstly, both devices are rumored to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which is currently considered the best option for Android phones as it offers enhanced efficiency and overall performance.
Based on the leaked benchmark scores, both models have performed exceptionally well, indicating that they could be powerful devices. If this holds true, the Z Flip 5 might surpass all previous flip phones in terms of performance.
Its benchmark score was slightly higher than that of the Fold, although this may not necessarily reflect the final product. Nevertheless, it is a positive indication.
The pricing aspect is yet to be disclosed, but the current Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 is priced at $999-$1,059. The official unveiling is just around the corner, with a launch date scheduled for the end of July, approximately six weeks from now.
