Recent test on Motorola Razr 40 Ultra shows something cool but never do it yourself

As the launch of the latest Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 approaches, spare a thought for the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra. Despite being one of the top folding phones available, it may be overshadowed by the excitement surrounding the newest and shiniest device.

Motorola Razr 40 Ultra

This would be unfortunate, as the Moto Razr 40 Ultra (known as Razr in the US) is a highly capable handset with its own unique charm. Additionally, it has proven to be quite durable, as demonstrated in a bend test conducted by Zack Nelson. Even under immense pressure, the inner, larger display remains flexible and fully functional.

Nelson frequently puts mobile devices through tough situations to test their durability, sparing you from doing so. Through his testing, he discovered that the Razr 40 Ultra has a flexible display. Even when subjected to significant pressure on the hinge at the back, the inner screen remains completely undamaged. This is a definite positive outcome.

However, it is concerning that when he applied pressure by placing his thumb on the small outer screen, the glass covering that display shattered. Although the display itself was still functioning, the front layer was completely destroyed.

Nonetheless, it is impressive that the inner display can endure some rough handling, indicating that it should withstand normal use well. However, one should be cautious about scratches since the 6.9-inch Full HD screen is prone to them.

Moreover, even though the rear display still functions after sustaining significant damage, it can be considered a success. Nevertheless, it is strongly advised not to attempt this or anything similar at home.

At the beginning of the summer, the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra was released, featuring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. Depending on the variant chosen, it is equipped with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM.

In the United States, it is also referred to as the Razr and is a foldable phone with a 3,800mAh battery. It supports both 30W wired and 5W wireless charging.

We are curious to see how it will measure up against the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, set to launch on July 26, 2023. We will provide our comparisons around that time.
